This bunch of goodies all arrived this week.
  • 2 x Netlea G2 pre-filters
  • Jebao DC pump rated at 6,500 l/h
  • Smart/electronic auto-shutoff valve for the RO
  • Flowmeter for the start of my CO2 upgrading
The shutoff valve will be handy as I can just slide the magnets up and down the RO tank whenever I need to adjust the shut off point No need for drilling holes or needing to designate a set point.

Most looking forward though to playing around with the netlea pre-filters and the pump for my DIY filter upgrade. The main issue is working out the connections to and from the pump, but I guess I'll talk about that more in time over at the filter thread.

Apart from the netlea filters, everything else was from Aliexpress. Not much of a wait either - much quicker than it used to be.

Anyone else had some good hauls lately?

Nice! Will be interested to hear what you think of the Autoaqua. For the moment I just have an old-fashioned manual float switch on my RO tank. Did you get the Netlea's from ARC? I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Netlea SS canister from them. I am still waiting on my flowmeter, though. Cleared customs, but stuck in New Jersey since Friday for some reason. Was backordered here in the US, but hopefully gets here this week!

That auto-shutoff valve with magnet sounds great. Exactly what I need.

Which flowmeter did you get?

Yeh looking forward to hooking that up. I have a pump on my RO so it turns that off and the water. Automate as much as you can as efficient as you can i say. Well that's the idea at least lol.

The flowmeter is not a brand name one but got I got the idea from @JacksonL and his thread here

I'll report back here once the Autoaqua is installed or over at this RO water thread. Looking forward to seeing it in operation.

No I purchased the Netlea's in Aus where I live. I believe ARC is the place for them in the US though.
All I can't find anywhere is the Netlea connection set which is a really slick and compact way of connecting the two. I guess a standard 16/22 tube will do the job.

I actually quite like what i've seen from the Netlea canisters. I hope you can report on your experience once you've had a good play.

The IAPLC is ADA's International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest, which has been around since roughly the turn of the century. It's absolutely my favorite aquascaping contest, though KIAC and AGAIAC have come on strong in recent years. ADA publishes an annual booklet that includes nearly all the layouts entered that year, and they are absolutely stunning (and worthy of collecting, in my opinion).

A small hobby of mine has been to collect all IAPLC booklets that have ever been published; I think I have nearly all of them by this point, though there are some gaps in the early 2000s. I am seller Phoenix2367 on eBay; if anyone from ScapeCrunch sees something in my offerings that they would like, send me a DM and I'll give you a discount!

Back closer to my birthday, I treated myself to a couple decadent treats.
The IAPLC book is awesome. I like the top scapes so much better than 2025

Love the ADA garden mats. They're about 4 times thicker than the UNS ones! Great for larger tanks especially. I love the IAPLC books for inspiration. They're a little spendy, so I only have a few, but their website results section is slow to load, so it's worth it.
