That was the first thing i tried as the new app allows you to turn off voice and i thought that might have been the issue. The only fix last night was to uninstall and reinstall the ap which did resolve the issue.

I have two questions: what setting r,g,b,w do folks recommend for non-co2 injection or if not precise values relatives of r,g,b,w values - for now i have r,w with g 1/2 of r and b 1/2 of g but the light is a bit red (too red?).
Also the light did not follow the schedule and come on this morning. It is not clear to me if the schedule start time is when the light first comes on or the end of the ramp up period. But either way i had to connect to it after which it immediately came on. So that is a bad sign but we shall see if connecting fixed things.
No idea on a non-CO2 setup, as that's outside my area of expertise and experience with this light, so take this with a grain of salt. My initial thought would be to run the light fairly low using one of the preset modes, with
Natural being my personal favorite. But other may have preffered optimized mixes.
On my CO2-injected setup, I never went above
Setting 4, which was already producing over
100 PAR at the substrate on my 60U. Of course, a larger and deeper tank will change those numbers significantly.
I'd recommend downloading the
Photone app and using the guide here to measure PAR. That will give you a good idea of the PAR level you're getting at the substrate, allowing you to adjust the light output based on the needs of your plants.
As for the timer functionality, the ramp-up begins
at the scheduled start time, not before it. Depending on the ramp duration you've selected (up to one hour), the light may initially appear to be off because it starts at a very low intensity and gradually increases. The longer the ramp, the longer the light remains at lower output levels.
If the tank was still dark well after the scheduled start time, it's likely that the clock or schedule synchronization wasn't set correctly.
For reference, I ran an
8-hour photoperiod with
30-minute ramps. That gave me approximately
7 hours at full intensity within the 8-hour window. I then followed that with
1 hour of moonlight mode using
1% blue before the lights shut off completely. I actually wish I could do that with my lights on my larger tanks as it was nice.
