Just got my AT5S in. Unfortunately I just cannot figure the app and light out. I've been futzing with it for over an hour.
The old app, I simply cannot connect. Android, the device never shows when I go to add it. iOS, a device with a different name shows and cannot connect.
The new app, it's too buggy and bad UI to even be used. It connects, but I cannot set and make it stay on a light color. Changing modes resets the custom colors. Scheduling barely works, and colors don't save.

So, right now I can't even really use the light to any useful extent since only the new app is able to connect.

Have you sent a message to Tommy at Aqua Rocks Colorado? He's usually very helpful with this sort of thing.

I just asked him yesterday about the new app. He says it works but some things are still in Chinese. I haven't tried it yet.

I just received two units of Netlea AT545s. I have two other lights on hand, the Chihiros B45, Twinstar 45B, and I thought I would do a simple comparison between the three.

Without any professional equipment, I will only be using the photone app with DIY light diffuser. Note: the paper I used was 20lb instead of the recommended 22lb, I am assuming the PAR reading is higher than the actual, but I think it's good enough for comparison use.

I did very simple measurements, the lights are placed at the center of a clean UNS 45U tank, and the iPhone(16 Pro) sensor is placed directly below the light on the bottom panel, where the center point of the tank is. And the results are as follows:

(Note: the mirror shade used here is a DIY shade)

There are 10 levels of power outputs to choose from for the Netlea, so I tested each level to find out at which level the PAR reading will be similar to the Chihiros/Twinstar. I am getting 177 at level 3 and 141 at level 2.

The newest generation of Netlea AT5s do not need any mirror shades, since they have reflection cup for each LED bulb. When viewing from a lower angle, I can comfortably look inside the tank without the lights hurting my eyes, even at full power.

I will be using these lights on my tanks only since they are so powerful and has a very reasonable price. The only caveat is that the warranty on these lights are basically waived since it's costly to send them back to China if anything needs to be fixed. Also, the app can use some improvements, but overall acceptable since I can read Mandarin.

There are very limited information on Netlea's lights when I was doing my research prior to getting them, so I thought I'd provide some data here for any future references.

Hello everyone. Maybe someone can help me set up my light (Netlea WRGB NL-580S-AT5-Z0/3). Aquarium 90x45x45, CO2 is supplied. He's about a month old. Perhaps someone can share their light settings, which I will then adjust for myself. I've been racking my brain for a week now and I don't understand which modes to choose.

My understanding is that as long as the PAR stays the same, there's not much of a difference in how you set up each color. I use the presets it came with and choose the one I find aesthetically pleasing.

What mode do you use? I've finished the period when he accelerates it to 8 weeks (I started at 4 weeks). And then all the modes go 10-12 hours, it's confusing to jump from 6.5 hours to 10-12

I'm not sure what you mean by weeks? I use the default modes from Netlea and control it via the Wechat app. The current setting I have is R20, G19, B12 and it's at 27w output(50%), and I set the schedule myself from 2:30pm to 9:30pm. I never adjusted the color individually, this is from the presets.

Thank you. Looks like I got it

I just got an AT5S for my low tech UNS 45U. I know, complete overkill, but I’m interested in seeing what a good light actually looks like! I have a few questions right out of the gate.

I downloaded two versions of the app. One has me enter my tank size but then doesn’t “see” the light on the next screen so I can’t connect to Bluetooth. I’m using an iPhone. The other app doesn’t have the initial screen for the tank size but I can connect to the light so success, finally. Am I missing anything by not being able to use what looks like the newer version of the app?

Also, is there a way to program sunrise/sunset or a long ramp up or down?

And … has anyone mounted these lights to a canopy? If all goes ok with this light, I’d like to upgrade the ones on my low tech 100 gallon tank also. Wondering if I can just use the hanging kit and attach with eye hooks or if there is a better way.

Thanks!

So I'm frustrated with the app situation. Very little information on how to use them.

My suggestion is to reach out to Aqua Rocks Colorado and ask them for help in setting it up. I reverted to using the version 1 app as I could not make heads or tails of the version 2.

Thanks, @Art. I’ll reach out to them and see if they can publish some instructions for us. I’m going to hold off on lights for my 100 gallon until I decide if the app situation is worth it.

[Just sent them an email.]

As far as I’m aware, there’s no ramping settings like the Chihiros. All you can do as of right now is to slowly increase the power with time increments, but still not as good as what Chihiros is offering.

New AT6s III ($160+) just got released today, as well as AT7s II ($300+), both support WiFi connection now. Haven’t heard anything about the new AT6 Pro though, the previous generation were limited edition only. Idk if Aqua Rocks Colorado plan to have all of these new models in stock. But if you are in the Bay Area in CA, I can potentially get them for you relatively cheap.

The latest version of the iOS v2 app has broken the bluetooth connection for me... It initially connects but doesn't see the current settings, then after making one change it disconnects and will not reconnect unless I force close the app, after which the same thing happens again.

I also tried the iOS v1 app, and the Android apk posted earlier in this thread, but both cannot find the light at all to connect to.

I have the AT5 560S V3.

Anyone else? Any suggestions?

can any do me a favor and check how many watts and amps their lights are pulling with these settings?

1765770501763.webp

i checked with my kill a watt meter and it said i was only pulling 189 watts and 1.63 A with 3 of the AT6 Pro. My seneye only measured 228 (Dc 2025) PAR vs 517 PAR (May 2023).

The netlea software says im pulling 426 watts though. Dunno if it's cuz im using the old app, my power strip might be acting up, or the power bricks are messed up

edit: it was the app.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the old app 2.1.657 (the v1 that was in english) and re-entered my old schedule and PAR ratings match or are close to the old ones i took 2 years ago.
