Great thread. I think this could be a long, ongoing one.
Usual 50% weekly water changes on the two high tech tanks.
Fert dosing. At the moment I'm just using a commercial all-in one product but lean on
No3 &
Po4. I had the bright idea that this would increase the intensity of the red plants. The macros are lacking in these tanks though.
I've since decided that a more non-limiting fert regime may help.
Just received my first batch of dry ferts and have worked out the dosing I want to start.
Just not sure whether to front load the macros or run them 3 times a week. probably not much difference.
I'm also continually scaping/experimenting on two said tanks.
Then trying to work out what lights I may want for my 5 ft 150G tank longer term.
Right now i have mostly non-aquatic lights meant for grow tents (Spider Farm Glow80 x 2 which totals 160W) + a chihiros A2 series I had on hand to increase the temperature (
K) as these grow lights are very warm and give the tank a yellowish glow. They also don't have a dimmer. This tank is certainly more difficult to control from a plant perspective than the 4ft tank. I just need to work out why.
