It was a great tank and I am glad you didnt quit.

I havent done a thorough deep dive into the tanks yet but from quick checks yours hit the spot for me.
Thank you. This has energized me, so no quiting at this time 😆.

I came very close. I'm still dealing with an algae I can not beat back. It's been over a year now.
Congratulations!!

Yeah, I was there earlier in the year with my previous scape and with my current one.
When I figured out the problem with the first one, I really wanted to close the loop and get it back going great, but I was so burned out, I just wanted to start over. Then I started having trouble with my next set-up. It was discouraging. Its going great now though. Seems once you start getting it right, it becomes easier to get it right. Hope it is that way for you as well.

Thank you. Fingers crossed. Switching her over to low and slow.

Lol, yes. Low light and stuff 😆

I finally believe, the absolute year (over really) of hell, has ended. Remember this covered in algae tank? I farmed it yesterday for 200 bucks to my local fish store. "Big sigh."1000001571.webp

The competition 100 is still wanting to challenge me. But way better than just leading up to the AGA.

Unfortunately, we are going to have to make big decisions in the coming weeks. We are so overloaded with species it has become a nightmare. I'm thinking any species with temperamental behavior is going away permanently. I'll leave those to the big boys. Farming for cash requires fast easy plants for this house hold.

Those hygrophilas are stunning. What species/variety? Also, what is your current micros dosing schedule and with how much WC %?
Awesome tank, still so inspiring!
I bought it as Stricta a long while ago, but the consensus is it's that variety they call Cherry Leaf.

Our water changes exceed 50%, so closer to 60 and maybe a touch more. I use @Burr740 mix for micros. Per dose is a .15Fe proxy. I'll double dose after the water change and then 2 more times (single dose) over the week.

And thank you! I get I took 2nd place, but this past year almost had me drop out of the hobby.
