What did you do to your tank(s) today?

Nothing induces panic more than finding water outside of the tank.

One of the brackets holding up the lights had a schumtz buildup and was wicking water. Took them down. Clean up, and a reset is a job for tomorrow.

Lesson learned, added a new item to the monthly maintenance log.

Was photographing the fish today and noticed many small details that I wouldn't have noticed just by looking at the fish in the tank, due to how much they move about. I think picking up photography fits in quite nicely with the hobby. Specifically macro-photography allows one to get to know their fish/plants better.

I didn't realize I had hydra in one tank until I saw the macro photos.

Aquascapes change rapidly with time and to see the changes in detailed photographs also give good feedback on plant/fish growth. I didn't realize how much my fishes had grown in the past few months until I had photos to compare also.

Great pics of the fish Dennis. What set up are you using for these pics???

And maybe we need a thread just dedicated to fish shots.

My Rainbows are also very photogenic!

I'm thinking I might have rainbows in my new 72 gallon scape.

Rainbows have great size for photography ! I just wished they were a tad bit smaller in size.
I can see that on the ?Bacopa/R.indica leaves. I have read people freaking out about it, but you seemed to have slipped it in there. Is this of a concern?
Hmm I don't see any obvious issue with them being around?

Shrimp folks have concern that they predate on the smaller shrimps, but I already have fish doing that and the shrimps still out reproduce that. Perhaps in expensive, slow reproducing shrimp tanks they might be of concern. They are super tiny though, I don't even know if the shrimp eating thing is an urban legend or real.

I just saw your thread on TPT about the week Aqua P, did you solve the annoyances with the app control? I’m thinking of getting the p1200 for my Tideline 62 lagoon setup
Yes, once I got used to the app and learned how to set my own lighting schedule, and custom modes, it works great! I really like mine.

I do have one complaint, and this is likely a problem with a lot of the LED lights out there, is the lack of uniformity with PAR readings around the tank. I can read 150 PAR in front and 80 PAR in back, at the substrate. This is with an Apogee light meter. It's definitely not exactly the same at every spot, but it works well enough for my needs.

I saved quite a bit of money on my 900 by getting it from AliExpress. Just be mindful of the power configuration. 120V US or something like that and not the European one.
