I will say I switched from my 4.0 gpm Eco-Worthy diaphragm pump to that exact sump pump. The diaphragm pump worked fine but, of course, was noisy. This pump didn't have near the flow to the first floor from the basement so I tried a 1.5 hp sump pump rated at over 6500 gph. It only performs a little better than the 1 hp pump, still well below the diaphragm pump. I think I'm just going to build a noise dampening enclosure for the diaphragm pump. They just can't be beat for lift performance.
That's spot on -- these diaphragm pumps aren't built for volume, they're built for pressure. So they can lift 2 gal/min up 2 stories, while most impeller pumps (sump pumps) can pump 10 gal/min up one half-story. The new house I'm in has only one floor, so I'm gonna try the sump pump style to see if it can get more gal/min than the diaphragm pump I was using.

I'm interested in hearing how this goes. I bought the ecoworthy diaphragm pump to pump from my laundry room to the tanks, which are (currently) all on the same floor. I'm still getting things set up and haven't used it yet, but I am slightly concerned about how loud it may be based on what everyone here is saying. My water changes can only ever happen when my son is sleeping

Yeah, pressure switches are a diaphragm pump feature, and it is nice to be able to stop the pump simply by turning an inline valve at the end of your fill hose. I have had an instance where I didn't have my phone in my hand so asked alexa to stop the waterpump, but alexa decided she was on break. Being able to shut off the valve and not worry about pressure building up in the hose is nice.
