I ordered a new RO unit capable of 600 gallons per day. The unit I have now only does 150 gallons a day which was just too slow for 4 tanks. I'm looking forward to being able to increasing water change frequency. When I only had the 120, I would do multiple changes per week and everything was easy mode. My thinking is I better get back to it. I enjoy them and so do the fish.
What is your tds out of the tap before the ro unit? And I believe i know the unit you are talking about so I will be curious how well it works for you as the thought has crossed my mind to buy one as well but my tds is extremely high.

270. About 8dGH and 7dKH. Bought Aqua rocks Colorado option.

it sounds like the 120 has a nutrient export problem. With cyano forming.

Also, start that youtube channel! Im going to start one, about my property in the woods and all that entails. With stuff i like sprinkled in.

Interesting, I've reduced the stocking so hopefully it starts eating more in-between water changes.

Yeah, a bit worried about being out there. Would much rather watch Joe Harvey or someone else

I can fully appreciate if you don't love the idea of having your face and voice out there on YouTube.. We can't all be Juris or MJ, although heaven knows Tanner is a goofy looking dude and he's phenomenally successful as well as a real delight to watch. Helps that he's Canadian 🇨🇦🍁😅

If you haven't seen them, I'm a big fan of the Cinematic style channels, that have just scaping video and peaceful music with no voiceovers at all, content in screen text only.

Having you do a channel like that with real live Dutch build / maintain / compete series would be outstanding!!
🎉🎉🎇🎉🎉🎇🎇

And I bet you could get Joe and others to consult on helping you script it 😎😁

Tanner is awesome. Love that guy. I don't want to do tank breakdowns and redos. I'm thinking more of a long running video journal where my interpretation of Dutch and how I execute that interpretation is worked out. And to be completely transparent with arising issues and my approach to solving them. Something like that. I'm mostly nervous about production quality as I have zero knowledge there.

Videos are hard and often it comes down to not what is said but how it is said and who sez it. Sadly this allows for bad content being upvoted and good content being down voted. Good luck !

A best practice is full disclosure of commercial interests. Many Youtube channels, Facebook posts, and even some well known forums don't hold this high standard. This makes it hard to know what to believe and what not, for a newbie.

I am quite passionate about the integrity of ScapeCrunch, and until today @Art is head and shoulders above the rest with his vision and integrity.

My only issue with going on YouTube is, should I be the one to do it?
Yes, because I trust what you are saying and you've proven your skills more than enough. Perhaps team up with ScapeCrunch, so that in addition to the Youtube video a thread with useful posts can be seen? You could make your channel a real trusted source.

I'm buying equipment now and researching video editing programs. I will probably monetize the channel, if it even amounts to anything, to help cover equipment costs. Also, YouTube requires full disclosure with sponsorships and I have no plans to accept any at this time. I fully plan to endorse everyone and any business who has and does support me. Such as, BurrAqua, Yugang, Aqua Rocks Colorado and ScapeCrunch. I'll also endorse my local fish store guy as well. He makes a solid effort to do what is right when it comes to selling fish.

Other than that, it would just be my dosing numbers, some basic Dutch rule explanations, how I go about things and my thinking process while executing the scape.

Lastly, my wife is pushing me to start a YouTube channel. We both agree there's very little in the way of Dutch aqua scaping. Youtube is inundated with garden style which is being miss labeled as Dutch. And honestly, it makes me crazy. I love George Farmer, but damnit, don't start a Dutch series and it not be actual Dutch. Insanity.

My only issue with going on YouTube is, should I be the one to do it? I'd much rather watch @Burr740 videos 😆. Anyways, if I do it, it's going to be the bad and the good. Everyone one shows those perfect tanks, and I'm not shy to show the dumpster fire I've somehow started. What are everyone's thoughts for a novice American trying to Dutch YouTube videos? Personally, I'm a bit lol at myself for even thinking about it. Anyways, maybe?
DO IT! George Farmer is the man...
