Help What’s Going On with Aquascaping YouTube? Even the Big Channels Are Struggling…

As someone pretty new to the aquascaping hobby, but a prolific youtube viewer, at first I did watch a lot of the scaping videos. By now though I'll skip the initial scaping part (seen enough soil poured, rocks and wood stacked and glued...), to get a view of the finished scape before planting, and then skip again to the planted scape. Seeing it right after planting and then again some time later is perfect.

What I would have loved to find but didn't are more detailed videos of different plants, their sizes when grown, what to possibly combine, and how much effort a given plant will need to be kept in shape. A lot of plant videos I came across show someone opening an invitro cup and sticking the contents to some dry scape, meanwhile explaining mostly stuff I can read myself on say the aquasabi site or similar. Lots of room for improvement there, in my eyes.

As was mentioned before, many of those dramatic contest winning tanks look amazing, and as a beginner I can only guess how feasible or not it might be to keep a given scape 'alive' long(er) term. Learning how to do that would be really nice, as I don't care about the perfect photo, but rather about having a nice tank in my living room.
