Journal A Nature Style Journey: 75P Aquascape Journal

Update, October 12th.

Today I did a simple, basic water change.

I’ve been so busy with work, I have honestly barely been looking at the tank. I dose it in the morning and leave to see it shortly in my evenings. That being said, it has been doing phenomenal on its own with just dosing. I haven’t touched it otherwise. It’s a real beauty, and with its overgrowth, it is beginning to grow on me (pun intended).

Next Saturday will be the big trim day. Then after that, we will see where things go from there!

With an auto-doser, you can touch it even less. 😁

Safe to say the hygro is no longer an issue, looking magnificent. Is the rotala stunting on you currently?

Overall I love the beautiful natural chaos

Thank you 🙏🏼 , the overgrown look has grown on me as well!

There’s no stunting as of now; it’s just inches away from the Week Aqua light, which is blasting it with light!

I'm such a sucker for Hygro; layout has developed beautifully!

So glad you enjoy the scape Ekmek!

The Hygrophila is something I’ve taken a huge liking to, it reminds me of tall trees. The leaf nodes are well-spaced and it gives a great contrast to the more dense Rotala it’s placed next to. That and the color is just… spectacularly green.

I’ve grown Hygrophila Corymbosa Compacta before; however, it gave a more richer dark green coloration in comparison to the 53B above. Both have phenomenal beauty in their own light.

Thanks for commenting! 🙏🏼

Always have loved this scape, especially the golden yellowish vibe.

Was watching a Josh sim video on Horizon aquatics YouTube channel and he showed a plant that he commonly uses - Potamogeton Gayi. He used it as a background plant.

The current plants are beautiful, but If you ever want to try out a new plant, the Gayi would fit this vibe very nicely.

Thank you so much for the kind comment. It means a lot!

I looked up that plant, and wow, how beautiful!! I will absolutely have to grow this one day. Maybe in the next scape 👀.

November 8th, Update

Hello scaping friends,

I apologies for the delay since my last update.

The aquascape is nearing its end, while the final trim was completed and new growth complimented me weeks later; I believe the perfection of this aquascape has already passed.

It’s quite a thing to think about, and this shows some of the lessons our own creations can teach us.

The scenery had been perfect before, but I failed to notice its full and beautiful nature.

Sometimes, the most valuable things are disguised as something that requires more effort and attention. When in reality, we are overlooking its perfected state.

With all that being said, I’ve been laying out the next aquascape and believe I have a good foot hold in what I’m wanting. Of course, I will begin a new journal when that begins here by December.

Here are some images of the aquascape in its ending state.
