ADA Amazonia Pro

with the ability to do all the water changes
or time ... My tank would have fewer issues probably if my job was tank maintenance
As it is, it gets done when I'm not dead after work which is probably days after it needed doing.

Heads up for those that don't get member's early access to Green Aqua videos, Tommy is building an "out of his wheel house" old school nature style aquarium and he's using the Amazonia Pro. Of course they shot the video a month ago so he has some growth results and opinions on the product. Spoiler alert, he's not gonna say bad things about an ADA product. 😄

Does anyone know if the Amazonia Pro will come in a smaller bag size that might eventually be available? I want to get enough to try out in my tank, but it usually takes about 12L. I don't want to buy 2 large bags and then have a useless partial left over.
As I recall from speaking with Steven Lo (co owner of Aqua Forest Aquarium) at Aquashella, they would have just the 9L bags initially. He didn't mention if or when 3L bags would be available. No reason you couldn't mix with a smaller bag of Controsoil or Feast though. Better yet, just start another tank. ;)

Blasphemy!!!! :ROFLMAO:

Actually a very good idea I hadn't thought of. I'm sure as soon as I make an order, the 3L bags will show up. I suppose I could also order a bag of Amazonia 2.

Better yet, just start another tank. ;)
That is in the works, but it has been for months now and I'm no closer to goal. It's really hard to aquascape and keep a few plants that you really like or are hard to get, etc with only one tank. If you go to do a scape, one vendor will have 1 plant you want, another will have 2, a friend will have another, but you can never just get all you want from one source. Its expensive and frustrating. It's so much easier with a second tank. I think many of us have a few favorite plants we always keep in the rotation of things we use.

As of right now

With RO water if your using it.

I’ve been following this thread and wondering if anyone would bring up this particular substrate. It seems the marketing machine for this new product is now in full swing.
As many of you know, ADA has been selling "Amazonia Ver. 2" for several years, but some may have noticed that "Amazonia Gold" (identifiable by its yellow lettering) was also available during that same period—it could still be found in stores as recently as two years ago.

Interestingly, ADA never promoted this specific substrate in their videos, demonstrations, or other promotional materials.
About 2–3 years ago, in a video filmed at the ADA gallery—I don’t recall if it featured Homma or Daichi Araki—this very substrate was used to set up a tank, with its pros and cons discussed in detail. It was described as being significantly richer in nutrients and was compared to the original version of Amazonia.
If I remember correctly, that was the only time this product appeared publicly; it wasn’t mentioned either before or after that instance.
I say this half-jokingly—and I’m certainly not spinning any conspiracy theories—but how can we be sure that this isn’t the exact same substrate that is now hitting the market under the name "Amazonia PRO"?
The coloration is similar, which suggests a high peat content. We’ll see how it performs in the long run; hopefully, it won’t turn into mud after 3–6 months of use—something that, unfortunately, often happened with many batches of Amazonia sold in those colorful bags.

We can't, I suppose, but I'm OK with that. It wouldn't be the first time a company rebranded something old as the "new" thing.
The problem with Amazonia Gold might have been the failed marketing effort. So this time around, they're going to do it right.

My conspiracy theory: ADA has always relied on their name to make things sell, and it's always worked..... until the last few years. The failed marketing of Amazonia Gold might be an example of the name not being enough. ADA has been more present in the US in the last couple years with marketing. The Amazonia Pro push might be an example of a new attitude in realizing just the ADA name isn't enough any more. There is almost a generation of hobbyist these days who weren't around when Amano was alive, and they are more brand agnostic than us old guys. </conspiracy theory> 😋

Id be happy if its just rebranded. The original was my rank #1 soil of all time. My favorite soil of all time.
