Love those lights, @*Ci* ! Do you recommend them, and if so, do you have a link? 🙏
They are simply 7w clip on reading lamps that I have clamped onto the windowsill behind the tank.
They do not work good with a timer so I have to turn them on and off by hand, but they do seem to be enough for the plants in this tiny tank.
No filter, no c02, a heater for the betta, 50% w/c per week, front load very lite macros and micros after w/c, no algae.

I will be starting a new tank in the next month or so. It will be an 8 gallon AIO which will have a 5.5 gallon display area. I need some inspiration and aquascaping ideas for utilizing such a small space.

This will be my first planted tank and first freshwater tank in 35 years. I currently have saltwater tanks, but am looking for the diversity. This tank will be low tech to see if the freshwater interest me long term. The tank will likely home shrimp and a group of tetras or rasboras.

This is a picture of my desk top reef tank. This will be the same type aquarium that I will be using for my planted tank.

this is my 5.4 gallon tank. I’m working on rearranging the plants and replacing a few to make it look better this week.

It's a tiny bit bigger than you wanted, but this is my 7 gallon cube. The carpet and majority of the plants were grown in without CO2. I added it after ~6 months because I got a free citric acid/baking soda generator and I wanted to see how it would work. The tanks still up and running, but I removed the carpet because I wanted to be able to see the shrimp better when I was feeding them. Since it's winter I'm also using the tank as a way to propagate houseplants.
