Emergency Oase Filtosmart 100 Hose Lock/Unlock stuck, cant release or tighten fully

I’m doing maintenance and unlocked the hoses with no issue. Tried re inserting and it’s now stuck like this. I can’t negotiate it any further or pull up on it. I’ve been hitting it with a hammer to no avail. What do I do? It’s neither fully closed nor open.

Its likely crossthreaded. Wiggling it at an angle repeatedly is likely your solution. Whether it will be damaged (especially after the hammer) is an open question.

Take it to the sink, remove the entire top, work it from that angle once the top is removed.

I was on the hold with customer service and ended up just prying the entire quick connector out with a screwdriver. I inspected and there thankfully wasn’t any damage or broken seals. Filter is up and running as normal.

Customer service lady said it probably got partially knocked while I was fitting the connector back in, and when it’s not fully open or closed then it can get stuck like that.

I had been reading some threads online and others have had Oase send them a new filter at no cost, but I wasn’t ready for the headache of dealing with that in the interim.
