It seems to be official. After 10 years, Takashi Amano's largest work is closing to the public on June 30th. Honestly, I was hoping for it to be a permanent exhibit.

I was fortunate to go see it a few months back. Tremendous experience. If you have a chance to go see it, now's the time.

I had seen the rumors previously. While I am impressed the installation has been running this long, I can't help but feel disappointed now that its closure is official. Art, you were fortunate to see it in person. I read the ADA announcement regarding the closure just this morning. Forests Underwater — A Decade Etched in Time

Balazs of Green Aqua does a deep dive at the Florestas Submersas.

I watched this a few days ago when it was released for members. I really enjoyed this video and getting to see more behind the scenes as to what it takes to maintain a nature aquarium at this scale. The number of wabi kusa they produce alone was mind-blowing. I really can't imagine keeping it running this long, though, especially with exhausted soils. It's a shame it is coming to a close, but it's also understandable. How many of us even have a home aquarium that has been running as long?
