Where is everyone's favorite source for used and discount CO2 tanks?

Amazon is so far steadfastly refusing to put any on sale for Prime Day 🙄🙄

It looks like tariffs have taken their toll on these as well. The Vevor 5ib tanks were commonly priced at $50 on Amazon but I see they are now over $65. Still your best bet for a new tank. Otherwise, keep an eye on FB marketplace as there's regularly homebrewers getting rid of gear. Anything below $55 is OK but ask them the cert date. If older than 5 years you'll have to get a recert before filling which is another $30 at least. Some places that do swaps will swap one past it's cert date though.

Because of their weight? They are usually reasonably priced to purchase used.
Partially due to the weight, I think they're about twice the weight of aluminum, but also because they tend to not look as nice (they rust). If you're just going to do swaps, looks aren't as important because you never no how the swapped tank will look anyway. But if you're going to do refills and especially if it will be visible and not behind cabinet doors, aluminum tanks just maintain their appearance better. I like that the Vevors, for a relatively low price, are painted. I also have a nice metallic red Kegco tank from homebrewing days that's more showy if I'm going to do equipment photos. Not a big deal but just an extra consideration.

I had a 5 lb filled today at my usual haunt costing $33 AUD.
Its a 35 min drive away and I tried getting it done on Friday only to get there and was closed and wouldn't be open till Monday. There may or may not have been a cursed word or two!

I have a larger ~13 lb tank on the spare/farm tank, so had to rip it away from that and substitute till I could get it filled. So lights were very low for two days on the spare tank

Something to note too is to check and see if you actually have reasonable access to refills before you spend on a nice tank. I only have places convenient to me that will do swaps. Not even the local air gas distributor will do fills on demand. :-/
I had no choice but to hand over my sparkly new Vevor tank for an ugly aluminum swapper.
