With the exception of two bags of lava rock as a security blanket, the foam is all I have in the sump for filtration. I honestly probably don’t need any biological because the foam acts as both

I thought about just doing lava rocks. Can buy local and cheap.
2 AT6's?? You're gonna need to put sunscreen on the back of your hands when you go to feed your fish

How serious do you view the risk of seam breaks in Red Sea tanks/G2 included/new trend developing
Go read post #635 here if you want to see how businesses that make money off red sea ads control fair information dispersal. on Reef2reef there's a five year thread with a shocking degree of red sea seam splits, it's the most alarming pattern I've seen for any manufacturer of reef tanks/tanks...

She breathes. This took much longer than I anticipated. I had to trouble shoot a leak but finally got it working and holding. Tractor Supply Co. had BDBS (It's always sold out here) and grabbed 4 bags. I'm going to wait at least 24 hours before adding the sand just incase this leak pops up again. I'm going in to fiddle with the Aqua Rocks Colorado @Yugang reactor tonight and see what she does! I also decided I'm not going to use the CoralVue on this tank. I'm going for a pure overflow mode with the reactor. I'm dusting off my American Marine controller as a fail safe and will manually log drop and times. I should also have the lights mounted tonight.
For my sump user out there. Should I run the sump with more or less water? Right now I'm just a bit lower than half.

I just run my sump 50 to 60% of the sump volume

I just realized your sump is a premade one with adjustable baffles. I would adjust the level to where it's quiet/least amount of splashing going over the baffle but if you can get 50% of the volume too that would be good.
Youre gonna replace the lid in the middle that has a big hole right? Not sure how hot it is over Albuqerque but I expect to lose 2% of my water volume from evaporation daily here in SoCal.

I’ll need to find something to close that up for sure. It’s very dry here and I lose quite a bit of water daily.
My first sumped tank but I know I can change a baffle in there. I am hearing a trickle for sure so I’ll try to figure it out in the morning.
I'm still in the planning stages for my 110 sumped. My thinking is to measure the number of inches >> volume of water with the physical potential to backsiphon in a catastrophic power failure + precaution failure, and only run the sump at a level low enough to safely accommodate that quantity of water.
In my case leaving room for about 15 extra gallons in a 40 gallon capacity sump.

Baffles really aren't necessary, I'm just going to use my sump for prefiltering and hiding mechanicals, and throw in a couple bags of biomedia for fun.
I'm using a rollermat for pre-filtering, which is if not the coolest invention (Yugang still has my vote) then by far the coolest new Gadget in the hobby in years

This is my first time ever having a sump. I could be wrong, but I believe the drain design on this tank will break siphon quickly during a power failure. I should probably calculate how much would back siphon as you mention. Better safe than sorry!
