UNS glass “lid”/cover

So I grabbed the UNS branded glass lid when I bought my tank knowing that it was a good bit smaller than the opening to allow for intake/return.

I have my light resting on the edges of the rim and I can just see myself losing grip on this stupid thing (lid) taking it off/on for maintenance. I don’t seem to have a good way to move it in and out without getting fingerprints on it either. Add in the condensation and it’s a recipe for a nightmare drop scenario.

Those that have this how do you deal with it? I thought about sticking some holders on either side of the top to make it easier to lift and replace.

I use these for holding and lifting



I use these glass braces for a lid smaller than the tank, if your lid happens to also be 4mm glass



Or these if it's a weird thickness

Thank you much! Yes it’s the lid smaller than the tank sitting on 8mm clips. I’ll have to measure but I think the cover glass is 3mm so these will work great.

I purchased a glass Landen lid for my UNS tank, same dimensions as the UNS lid but much cheaper. I use the same little side clips as @Koan (they came with the lid) but I also have problems with fingerprint smudges. Koan's post just gave me an idea though. I have some mini suctions cups with handles that I could have been using all this time.

I just bought a UNS 90u for my office. I am having an custom glass lid made. I am wondering about handling it for maintenance too.
