Tending water worlds since 1975!
That is a good point, Art, thanks.@*Ci* have you considered dropping the temp to 82F? Still within acceptable range for discus and better for the plants.
I recall, I think George Farmer, did a discus tank where he adapted the discus (slowly) to a lower temp 80-82 and that helped with the plants. I know Heiko Bleher suggests keeping discus always about 75F.
Part of the problem is getting an accurate (actual) temperature. Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried many thermometer devices - floating glass mercury (4 of them), stick on digital, various digital probe thermometers and an inkbird controller. ALL of them read different temperatures (literally!)
I finally decided to buy a good infrared gun and just assume it is accurate.

The gun reads the temp at 83-84F. The Inkbird controller is set to keep it at 82F… so who knows?
I will try lowering the temps a couple of degrees over the next 2 weeks - I think you are right, that the discus will acclimate and be fine. The plants are definitely not improving any at this point so it’s worth a try.
