Oase Biomaster 2 Thermo.

Initial Symptoms - The Filter was noisy, and the flow was reduced.

Fix - Clean filter and hoses.

All was fine.

Overnight, the water flow stopped. I can hear the filter running. If I stop and start, it pushes a little water out, then nothing. The primer pump is slower to rebound than usual. Any hints or tricks to get this thing going properly?

Not sure. I had this issue when my hosing was too long and it would not prime easily. You might also have air pockets which can be relieved by rocking the filter on all sides. Have also heard that it can be an issue if you have too much packed on the top compartment like filter floss or if the compartments within the filter are not aligned.

Crisis averted.

Oase support is excellent. I wrote them, and in a few minutes, they replied and asked me to call them. We ended up FaceTiming, where they sat with me while I took everything apart. Upon close inspection, we found a tiny snail at the bottom under the pre-filter housing. That may have been the cause.

They had me remove some of the Seachem Matrix from the bottom housing, stating I may have too much in there. Also, I was told that reducing the hose to 1/2" from the supplied 5/8" will void the warranty.
