Been 10 days since my last update.

Plants have been looking good. I didn't get to do my water change last week, or over the week since I hurt my back again. I always seem to injure myself in the strangest ways. Prior to buying my house, I lived in an apartment so any fitness gear needed to be foldable and compact. I had a bench that I'd use for working out with dumbbells and it was always a bit "rocky". I got back into working out and what typically happens is I progress in the weight I'm lifting pretty rapidly, the downside being that my core doesn't quite catch up with everything else. I was lifting the dumbbells up, and as I laid back to do some flat presses, the backrest rocked and rather than just dropping the weights, I tried to manhandle them and tweaked my back pretty badly. I've purchased a much more sturdy bench since this happened, but it's sitting in the box since I haven't been able to assemble it just yet.

But yesterday my back was feeling much better and today it seems fine so I'll be able to get back to doing water changes again tomorrow after work.

I didn't dose anything since the last time I took a week off from water changes, that's when I started seeing issues. So far everything has looked great though.

The one thing that did happen is the CO2 tank finally ran out. Right before the lights came on I decided to check the PH level and it was .4 higher than it should have been and sure enough, one bubble every 4-5 seconds was being injected into the reactor and the gauge was at zero so I went ahead and swapped bottles. I'll need to find some time next week to run over and get it refilled. I basically got about 6-7 months out of a 10lbs tank.

Over the weekend I had a power outage that literally happened for no reason. Power went out, went back on for a second, then went back out again, then came back on a few minutes later. This happened yesterday during the day, except it just went out and didn't come back on for about 20 minutes. Last night when I went to feed the fish I noticed two were dried up on the floor. I don't know if the filtration suddenly kicking off spooked them or what, but there were to Kamikaze on the floor.

I need to do some heavy trimming tomorrow as well since many of the plants have reached the surface. I think it might be a good time to move plants around since I have enough healthy growth to trim off and toss the older unhealthy stems.

I'll get an FTS up this weekend once the dust has settled after the WC and rearranging of plants.

The older you get the stranger they get!!! I am speaking from experience. Sometimes I have new aches or pains and can't even remember any event that caused it!

Looking forward to seeing the new pics.

Quick update since it has been a while.

The last 3 or so weeks have been crazy at work. Problem client, some varying levels of incompetence on their side, but I finally have them in a good spot so my schedule is opening up a bit again.

I'm still dealing with that very long, fine hair algae threads. Out of curiosity I left one alone and eventually it begins looking like a frayed thread. Very strange and I can't say I've seen anything like it before. It'll also grow long enough to span one side of the tank to the other.

Apart from that I've kept up on maintenance and just need to run some texts perhaps next Friday. I'm seeing some issues with existing leaves beginning to look unhealthy so I'm assuming some of the nutrients are being used up. After the water change on Friday, I'll wait a full week and then retest to see if I need to alter my dosing.

One thing I really want to get cracking on is redoing my nano tank. It has been needing a breakdown and reboot but I just haven't had the time to spend on it. Hopefully before we hit March I'll have that project completed.

I do need to do some replanting in this tank though. I moved plants around 2-3 weeks ago and I'm not liking where they're at so I'm going to try putting the crypt spiralis red in another spot, and if it turns out I don't like them there either, they'll need to go. I'm just very surprised by how large they've gotten. It's another example of not doing thorough enough research on a plant.

Apart from that everything seems to be doing well. Slowly but surely the rasbora numbers continue to dwindle. I either find a crispy rasbora on the floor, or one will slowly lose their color and eventually die. I have a feeling these rasbora were pretty old since I'm not seeing any indications of disease.

If this thread algae doesn't go away, I may consider doing a 3 day blackout and see if that gets the upper hand on it. It's basically the only issue that I don't really have a solution for.

It has been quite a while since my last post.

The tank has been doing well. Strangely enough the long filamentous hair algae literally disappeared practically overnight. It was there one week, then gone the next.

I've mainly been doing my routine maintenance and not changing a whole lot.

Work has been stressful so I've been keeping heads down on all that stuff. I'll post a pic at some point over the next couple weeks.
