Chihiros WRGB II - WiFi converter

I would like to have a way to control my Chihiros wrgb ii light via WiFi remotely and not needing to use the Bluetooth app itself.

the new WiFi hub pro is too expensive for me atleast for now. Looks like older WiFi hub is not being made anymore.

Is my only option then to plug the light into a smart plug and set it in manual mode ? Anyone who has tried this and are there any issues with this ?

I see no one has chimed in here. I don't have a Chihiros so I can't speak directly to it but I do know that smart plugs are being used for this purpose.
