Sorry to hear about your woes, been there, currently doing that . It’s frustrating as a mofo, and the labor can be a bear. Enough to make anyone wana quit. Sometimes a fresh start is best just to be in a better mental state overall. Good luck with the restart

Sorry man. I hope you get yours sorted. I'm a bit nervous about when my new tank starts to run out of ammonia and making the transition.

Exactly, it was working me to death. After I got it back on its feet, it was still a fight. I was working myself to death and it just wasn't any fun. Why be in this hobby if it isn't any fun? It was a hard decision to throw in the towel, but it wasn't so much giving up (I already got it back in OK shape) as it was a choice to get back to the enjoyable part.

A bit apprehensive about the next try, but I'll get it.

I ran that light at 10 hours too, but trimming it to 7–8 hours helped cut algae while keeping growth strong. Rotating substrates is fun for spotting how plants react.

I’ve been also trying to brighten up a few dull corners at home, and getting some new house plants really did the trick. I picked mine from a place that sends them out fresh with care tips, and they arrived in a day or two looking healthy. The bigger ones, like palms and ferns, made the biggest difference without much effort.
