New (for me) reading to add to the bookshelf. Been wanting Amano San's books for some time but the price, even for used, is quite high. Finally bit the bullet on a used copy of the Complete Works since it was a little less expensive than used copies of the individual Nature Aquarium volumes. It will be next to George Farmer's book.

George's book was my first aquascaping text. I then found a deal on Amano's Nature Aquarium World book 2, but like you, ended up with the complete works instead, as books 1 (in good shape), and book 3 were pretty pricey and/or difficult to find in my initial used book search. However, I did just score both books 1 and 3 on Etsy of all places, and they are in mint condition, and didn't cost the moon!

In addition to that, I was also looking for a handy aquascaping plant reference, as there are a number of plants that are now used in the hobby that I didn't even know existed 25 years ago. Steven Chong had mentioned this book in a contest aquascaping video series, and recommended it as a reference book. I found it on Amazon of all places. Took a bit to arrive as it shipped directly from Japan, but I love it. Concise, with a representative color photo of each species listed, placement in the aquarium/height, CO2 requirements etc. We have the technological advantage these days that my lack of ability to translate Japanese is not an impediment, as my phone does an ok job.

You can get the OG ADG book from the early 2000s used for cheap on amazon

They highlighted this book in the Sept AGA Clippings. Not sure if this is what you are looking for. It's new.

I cheeped out on buying his two books. But debated it for a while, if my office is upgraded how I want it to be I may revisit them.

I imagine it also discusses saltwater, but I figured for $13 used, why not.

I like it as a picture in time. I got it when it came out so it reminded me of what I dreamed of then vs now. Then I donated it to a library in Costa Mesa when I moved. So I bought it again back during covid for maybe $5 and it was like a blast from the past.
