Journal 22 gallon long bookshelf

Looking more like rubin in the new pics. Glandulosa leaves (submerged) are more narrow and not oval at all. Still early though. And its not rubin if youre positive about no adjacent leaves since it has both

I think you’re right. Almost every picture I’ve seen of glandulosa has very elongated leaves. Looking closely down the stem now and there are a few internodes with opposite leaves randomly.

Started posting some trimmings in a Facebook Planted Tank Auction group to make room. I cant stand the idea of throwing anything away.

Will be doing a large (80%ish) water change tonight or tomorrow to help reset the fertilizer accumulation and watch how the Ammania responds.

That’s looking great. Has the hair algae left?
I’ve been trying to not acknowledge it out loud to jinx myself, but yes it’s entirely gone. I’ve been pretty consistent with small weekly water changes and dose 1ml per gallon a day before. I’ve also added some carbon to one of the canisters to, in theory, catch organics. Idk how much difference it’s made, but the water is crystal clear at least.

The only algae I’ll get occasionally is some dust on the glass, which I’m usually able to add a little PO4 and it’ll go away. If it doesn’t I’ll scrape it off with the water change.

Man I love water change day.

Definitely need to prioritize a RODI unit. Even the most basic unit. I cut the 75% water change with 1/2 distilled water (bought per gallon) and still have a TDS of 356. I wouldn’t need more than 10-15 gallons per week.

Ammania is looking slightly better?

Super high! Yeah have you looked at used rodi systems? You could diy one as well. All the parts you can get online. It's just water filter housings connected together.
Yes, I actually just picked up a filtration unit that’s everything except an RO stage, which I plan on just buying separately.

Definitely have some Rubin. Good news is I just ordered some true glandulosa as well as R. macandra mini.

Yeah that definitely looks like Rubin, a good find from a LFS I’ve never seen anything but regular or mini in stores
