Alrighty, I'm pretty sure I have a direction now and I'm feeling relieved. I'll keep pushing this design going forward. Took the storage RO to 30ppm Ca and 10ppm Mg. I'm hoping this will bring the tank back to around the 5dGH I was at before going to 50% water changes. I started @Burr740 Macro strategy and fingers crossed this goes over well. I altered the mix to 3.75/1.25/5.

Side note: I'm thinking the moss wall is out and I will stay with the Trip. It looks nice!

I love the inquiring mind spirit and willingness to experiment and try out new methods.

I have changed many things about how I manage my tank over the years purely through trial and error. I'll be watching to see if there is anything I can learn from your latest changes.

There’s no denying it, and this can’t continue. It’s becoming frustrating not having a repository tank. I have to get a 40 gallon to hold these extra plants so I can work more easily.

On the good side, PO4 is up. On the bad side, the scape needs tons more work . Also, for some reason my Yugang reactor is refusing to drop pH lower than it use to. This just started happening a few days ago. I’m going to fully purge it this evening. Maybe there’s an air pocket that has formed. It’s acting like in overflow mode when it shouldn’t be.

Anyway, I took the scape in the wrong direction last night. I’ll try to fix it next week.

… a while ago, after posting my AGA tank and celebrating my 2nd place result; someone mentioned I grew nothing but easy plants bringing into question whether a Yugang Reactor could grow more challenging plants. This bothered me quite a bit and so I reached out to Joe……

Yeah, trying a few. To be honest, it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Some of the Tulu is doing great, some not so much. Furcata is doing quite well though and seems to really enjoy my water. I did stunt the Pogo with a sudden increase in GH. I’ve gone back to my original numbers of 5.2. So far, I’m really liking Joe’s Macro strategy. The plants doing well have increased in growth speed and the Myrio heads have gotten larger and really colored up. I just can’t seem to get a direction flowing. As soon as I see a path, execute it, I quickly find fault with it and try something new.

I almost fell off the couch reading this. It took her 2 hours to cut the shapes, thread, tuck the plants and then reattach them
