Waterdrop RO

I’ve read a few threads mentioning the Waterdrop RO filters but don’t see a dedicated discussion of them. Thought I would start one here.

I recently got the G3P600, finally have it installed, and now have a couple of questions. The TDS from the filter is reading 22ish on the digital display. My meter is reading 110ish. This same meter reads the water from my BRS RO filter as 7-8. Starting tap water TDS is 800. I wrote customer support and they asked me to do a video of my testing and send it to them - which I will do. But I’m curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Also, while researching this I also found that in order to use the filter with a TDS over 500 that I will need to add a prefilter. I asked customer support which filter to get and they said this one.



I don’t have room for it under the sink and also don’t want basically another unit minus the membrane. Any other suggestions?

I was hoping to use the Waterdrop for drinking and the aquariums but not with such a high starting TDS. And not if I need to add this prefilter. Bummer!

Customer support asked me to run the water for 2 minutes and then test it. TDS is now 19 per my meter. . Whatever - I’ll gladly take it! Now to figure out what kind of prefilter to add …

I started using a waterdrop ro system a month ago or so. Im filling my barrel right now. I have the 600 GPD unit. The readout says 003 and my TDS meter reads 3 in the barrel.

My issues with it have to do with the fact that it throws an error (E003) once running 30 minutes w/o stopping - and i just cycle power. And once the barrel is just about full i get E004 errors because the unit doesn't like the on/off bouncing of the float switch so at that point i just close the inlet valve to the barrel.

Thanks @Noahspapa for all the info. My meter and the Waterdrop now match. Maybe I just needed to flush the system more. I haven’t tried to fill my barrel with it yet but thanks for the heads up on that.

Glad to help. When i first started using it i think my TDS out was around 11? Its drifted down to 3 as i’ve used it.

I was going to ask you If the sample you tested from Waterdrop as soon as it comes out? since The initial few mls can have high tds. But looks like you have it figured out.

I use the waterdrop, and my RO water tests 10 tds. The tap though is <300.

It beeps after 30 minutes or so and gives the error - you have to manually stop it and restart it. I think it is a safety mechanism not sure if there is a way around it. Let us know if you find out. I don't use a float valve and the alarm doesnt bother me.
