Help Pogostemon Deccanensis conversion

How long does it take for this plant to convert from emersed to submerged? I've had these for a month and this is what it looks like. A bit of new growth, but I don't know if it's normal to wait that long or if it's stunting. The emersed stems were tiny also.

Another general query is what is your general experience with the plant?

It was from what looked like tiny emersed stems.

The bottoms of emersed or Tissue Culture P. deccanensis tend to get lots of algae. I'd let them grow out more, then remove the bottom portions and plant the fresh tops. See here

I grew it from tc a couple times in fresh aquasoil with PO4 supplementation. It did fine.
When I was having algae issues, I found it sulked much more than other plants.
For me, it grows slower in general than other stem plants, which makes it harder to get it to survive the algae and get a fresh clean top you can cut off and replant.

It is one of my fav. Plants but sadly as others mentioned it can be difficult.

Not sure what kind of dosing you are doing, but in my rather lean dosing tank I find that it takes a long time to root in and has probably one of the deepest roots that I have seen. Once it is rooted in, it grows a little bit faster. If cut and replant the tops I have to wait quite a bit for new growth.

Some peculiarities I noted and have been by others as well

• when it is not very happy either with nutrition or crowding it will branch out a lot and the bottoms will suffer.
• there are multiple cultivars. I got a TC cup from APF and had more compact form than the ones I received from BurrAqua. I initially thought it was an adaptation to the lean dosing but nope, just different cultivars.

You have some nice growth and looks like the photo might have been taken at night when it was sleeping/closing. I might just let it be for another month or so and it might grow out well.
