New-in-box. Has been sitting on the shelf quite awhile. Had planned on using it for a sub 16 gallon aquarium but have since chosen to go a different direction. I'm using the same filter on another nano tank and it works great. It's just not as user friendly when it comes to maintenance, but on a small tank, I don't find that maintenance is necessary very often. I've only opened the box to ensure all parts are there and add some stuffing for shipping.
