My macros are old, but KNO3, etc are basic chemicals. They shouldn’t really break down. However, my KH2PO4 is clumping, and I’m having trouble with algae. So, I thought I’d buy new N and P because, what would it hurt?
Today I am completely out of my current fertilizer formula and needed to make the new mix. I gathered my old containers, dumped the first one out, and realized it was the K2SO4. I didn’t buy any of that.
In the midst of an algae war, I have no potassium
Luckily, it was the first one I poured out, I only needed 2.4gm, and it was piled on top of the trash. I was able to scoop off just enough.
Placing an order for a new bag now.

Grabbing a disconnected hose and plugging the flow with my thumb, only to find out it was actually a broken glass lily pipe. It was a split second reaction without thought or close observation.

After every new tank—“This is my last one!”
Enough for some bleeding, but not enough to make me go get stitches. I was lucky! After that I got rid of all of my glass lily pipes.
I left the top open on my nijjensi tank for 30 minutes and t hey jumped out and died; weird my ladisalo tank doesn't even have a top and they never jumped - guess the nijjensi hated me.
After a water change in doubt if I really front loaded all three macros in the correct amount, or while doing it on autopilot had forgotten one or more. Only one solution, start all over again with another water change and dosing while paying attention ....

So you had to do your water change twice. Ha! Ugh, I hate doing it. That would suck.
Did a WC late while kids where getting cranky while my wife was putting them to sleep so it was a sh*t show. While hastily filling the tank, didn't pay attention and the strong current from the hose stirred up the aquasoil and a whole bunch of debris was released. Had to do another WC...made the same mistake...did another WC....need I say more?
cut my index finger with my pvc cutter, forgot i left the blade open when i grabbed it. it left a permanent scar.
cut my thumb on my algae scrapper while cleaning.
flooded my 22 gallon cuz i was working on the sump on my 180 gallon.
broke a ball valve on 125 gallon a few years ago.

"old phone" This one makes me laugh the most
I was cleaning the algae off the glass with one of those razor-on-long-handle things and brought it too high. It slid past the edge of the glass and hit me close to my temple/eye area! I've literally poured my blood into this hobby
I was doing WC last weekend, and filled the tank up pretty close to the top. I have a J shaped thermometer hanging on the glass, and with capillary action, some water managed to go over the edge of the glass and started flowing out of the tank. It's like a tiny siphon right there. I was down on the first floor doing WC on another tank, and didn't go upstairs till 10 min later. Water already covered the top of the shelf and was about to drip down to the floor. Luckily found out before it happened.
