Planning a 90p tank with slow growing and low demanding crypts/java ferns .

Want the shimmer effect (not too much) without the cost of the hyperspot skylight.

Anyone with other suggestions or experience with focus lights like in this picture, which comes with a holderIMG_7026.webp. Would probably just need a PAR at substrate of 50 or lower, having a dimmer would be a plus.

Assuming a sub $400 budget.

The best light for shimmer would be to look for used Kessil 160s, the og. They pop up on marketplace all the time, saw two tuna suns for 300 with all the accessories a few weeks back. Arguably the most tested lights there are for longevity.

(cheapest new option) Amazon Lamine lights always used by MD fish tanks fit the bill, I never tried them but they are ultra popular. Shared by Juju

The Hygger light has a loud, to me, fan that made me return it.

I would not do the AI freshwater pendant lights, they tend to burn out and fail.

Then there are pendants by netlea and week aqua others here can attest too but not sure you could get them at a reasonable price.
