Sorry to turn your thread into an Oase Biomaster Reconstruction Guide (lol!), but a couple more questions @Naturescapes_Rocco or @techman81 - did they redesign the inlet/outlet assembly as well for the newer versions? If not, why would replacing it help?
If I have the older, transparent prefilter tubes, is that indicative of having the older underplate, too?
Does anyone have pictures of what the differences look like between the old and new underplates?

I may place an order for the upgraded parts from Oase, but I have 4 Biofilters and living in Canada, it will be a very expensive order (with shipping, duty, tariffs and exchange rate) so I want to be sure I’m doing the right thing …

1. I don't think there was a redesign of the inlet/outlet assembly and I'm not sure if there is/was a quality issue with design tolerances. It may just be that the gaskets in it wear (there are 3 total) but they don't sell the gaskets, just the entire assembly.
2. Yes, I think if you have the old style clear prefilter pipe, you have the old "flat" underplate. I think they changed over to the new design parts at the same time. The only underplate they sell on the website by itself, is the new concave (curved) design plate.

Now is the time to make a big purchase since they have the discount going on.

New (V2) on the left, old (V1) on the right:

I tore apart every screw and I swear than only the prefilter pipes and underplates have changed between the old and new biomaster filters.

Yeah, from what I understand, the new prefilter pipe and underplate became part of the version 1 models sometime in 24 or even 23 and the only thing that then changed with the version 2 models was the new inflow, outflow pipes and spraybar.
Oh, I’m glad you mentioned that! The curved acrylic pipes are a much better design than the old style… I’m going to order those too.
Total bill for completely upgrading 4 BioMasters, plus replacing the inlet/outlet assemblies and new prefilter foams (my old ones were the 40ppi carbon ones), plus taxes and shipping = $444.57cdn. (a lot, but less than the price of one new filter, though).

Is there anything else recommended to get from Oase, before I hit “pay”?

Hmmmm, my check out page does not show the sale discount - I;ll have to email them about that first.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post these!

Maybe some inline shutoff valves and a skimmer...or two? 😆
