I just wondered if there was any sort of concensus here about whether push fit 6mm connectors are safe and reliable to use for CO2 systems when using "standard" CO2 tubing. I have read a few horror stories of failures in these connections with CO2 tubing.
I see from photos that many folks seem use push fit connectors in their CO2 systems, but with the much more rigid RO filter-type tubing, but I don't understand how to convert the outlet of a regulator/solenoid to connect to the rigid tubing. CO2 regulators/solenoids basically seem to all have a barbed 4mm end with a screw down collar to secure things - obviously not suitable for the rigid type tubing. Also how does one connect the rigid tubing to something like a diffuser, as diffusers will again all have a barbed connection (eiether with or without a screw down locking collar). I'm a relative newcomer to CO2 (about 18 months in) and am still using the slightly more flexible stndard CO2 tubing, as sold in ones LFS. In the future I'd ideally like to convert to using push fit connectors and the more rigid type of tubing. I know how reliable these connections are from using an RO filter for many years.
