Journal My $12 Aqueon 10 gallon journey from nothing.

I can’t wait to see your reds pop with the new light. I’ve been tossing around the idea of changing back to LEDs but the one so had kind of soured me on them

What was your experience? With Week Aqua specifically or LED’s in general?
I tried Finnex and Amazon knock offs and still use them on my low tech tanks. I believe the specific ones were under powered for my 75 gallon high tech tank. I didn’t care for the Finnex programming and its adjustments seemed underwhelming

Understood. These are both upgrades from several Amazon and even a Chihiros light. I’m very happy with the Week Aqua products, but I’m nowhere near the level of need that most on the forum require.

I’ve been eyeing the week Aqua lights for a while but the price tags has kept me from pulling the trigger. They definitely are a major upgrade from my previous LEDs

Aqua Rocks Colorado has a phenomenal deal on them. I was ready to buy an L-series but the price on the P-series was so good it forced my hand on the upgrade.

I love that your grabbing local stuff that you find
I’m so jealous of the wild caught plant selection you have available.
I’m always scavenging for something new, but almost everything that’s true aquatic is some variant of Rotala, Ludwigia, Limnophila or Lindernia. I’d like to get into the bog/marsh areas and try to find some Xyris.

Still trying to nail down what this is. The shade of green is really a beautiful contrast in the tank.

That is a nice deep green. Almost looks like limno rugosa

I’ll look into it for sure. Fortunately Florida DEP has a great aquatic plant field guide lol.

The other plant is looking interesting. Watch though, It’ll still transition to regular Ludwigia like always lol.

Also, I picked up some Rotala wallichi on my way home when picking up RO from my LFS. I’m always looking for something else to buy so I’m not swiping my debit card for $4 at a small business. I’ve never really been interested in these, but I really think the texture works with my current tank setup.

I am a sucker for wallichii. I buy it where I see it in person and promptly turn it into a burnt match stick.
