Facing some issues with Aquascape, some questions about ferts and Microplex VS CSM+B

Yes, ph is around 5.5-5.7 so edta works very well. And totally agree about aquasoil.

Just one little question: can 0.5 ppm Fe per week from Plantex be toxic for some species?

Guys, thanks a lot for your responses. It gives me more motivation to start the journal. I have lots of ideas and questions regarding this tank, and I'll be happy to hear your opinions. See you soon.

"Toxic" is probably not the right word for a lot of the adverse effects we see when Fe/micros are too high. Most are probably related to nutrient interactions

Your PO4 is what I consider very low, even with the lower NO3, and Zn is notoriously low in csmb. Those are the two main nutrients Ive found to both affect, and be affected by Fe level. With those being so low - just think about it like your Fe is in full strength mode and a couple other nutrients that usually keep Fe in check, or more equalized are not having their usual effect - .5/week could very well cause a species or three to balk. Ive seen it happen with a lot less!

This is where you just have to watch the plants a let them tell you whats good or not. There are so many factors together in play, what "should be good" on paper isnt always the case. If you suspect something then try reducing and see what happens, or raise it, etc. What the plants say is the only reliable voice you can listen to
