Pardon the interruption
A breather from tank 1 journal
To
Tank 4 (emmersed erio seed tank now submerged erio tank)
And
Tank 5 (emmersed erio seed tank)
Plantlets from tank 5 get transferred to tank 4
Im unable to germinate everything i import from india but it all is very exciting/joyous/and im definitely addicted to it. These seeds have brought a passion back into me, viewtime, and I look forward to the future. Although its all painfully slow and major patience is required.

Both tanks are landen 7.9g shallow rimless tanks. Mastersoil.

The rocks are placed there so I can water change so even water below substrate can get changed. I have found it doesn't seem to matter when working with seeds.

These are testers already common in the states. (Siedboldanium, rat, bahia) a lot would die off on me

After a week in the mail via ems these fluviatillis came in decent. The left would die. The right hasn't done anything in months maybe lack light being in the corner. Maybe its dead but still looks the same. Present-i uprooted it no new white roots and planted it in the center of the tank

This is cool.
I'm interested in doing something similar. I don't care so much about propagating. I only have 1 tank and would like to change the scape a little. Doing this would help me shift the Erios elsewhere and free up the tank to do whatever.

Having a spare farm tank is great you can propagate what you need swap back and forth plants to your liking.

I skimmed part of your journal. Your vichada looks incredible. The leaves are very fat and thick. How did u do that?

Well, it grew a good bit for me, but it came in great shape too.
If you looked at my last post, you see it has pretty much bit the dust during my vacation. I hope I can get it back going. I'd love to use an emersed set up like yours to keep it going.

Ive never seen it with leaves that thick. Ouch vacations hurt just about everyone
Going back to your syngonathus tank. I see that all of the stems that you were planting had roots on them. What do you do with the side stems that grow ? I ended up removing the side shoots but having a hard time planting them since they are not too long.
I either uproot and pull sideshoots or leave it rooted hold the main stem with one hand and pull the sideshoot with the other hand. I have to wait till they're big enough to plant. But I can still grow them a bit prematurely by planting/putting substrate over the crown so its basically partially buried.

Tank 2
Went from hob and wavemaker to two nicrew internal filters. The hob was a real pain. It would clog fast and when i did clean it and got it back flowing the flow goes straight diagonal down into the soil disrupting it. The nicrew is like having a canister filter but smaller and inside the tank. Its quite powerful for its size im really liking the equipment right now.

I also added back co2. I think im going to get great results out of it. Going from co2 to non co2 and then back. Im using a reactor this time. For more shallow tanks there's not enough bubble contact for diffusion. I expect great results and full lush results

Weird question but are you Dennis Singh from the planted tank forum?
Yes.
Also are you saying you bought that hardscape in one piece from Vietnam? That's so cool ...
Yeah on facebook there's a guy named bach phi. First shipment was a bust the shipping company i think was fedex or ups they were corrupt and wanted to charge the shippers more money to pass it through so they had it resent to a different address and I got it that way.

I took a long hiatus from erio syn toninas. Now im back better than ever. Perfecting growth. Making the system perfect. Im done with diorama aquascaping. Just not good in the game. But back to my element it gives me great pleasure and view time. Growing always looks good no matter what type of scape the growth is what makes it more appealing and beautiful. Erio syn tonina are just beautiful plants that its a huge goal perfecting them. Now if I can only perfect erio seed growing I will become a master in the 3 genus'. The soil im working with (mastersoil) isn't so great. Im going to switch to apt feast once they're done soaking. Always working the system always perfecting. Lighting and dosing are two areas which I can improve. I dont have a par meter so I mess around with different dimming. Dosing, my mixtures are pps pro but dosing more of it and just randomly. Soil mainly does the work. Gh is close to zero as well kh is at zero. I suppose if I were to try sand id fail miserably. Id get better and better but just no time nor interest in going that route. So soil is a big key to my success. I find for co2 a reactor to be way more efficient over a atomizer. You save co2 and the diffusion/absorbtion is greater. You dont have to have your working pressure up at all. Atomizers especially in a shallow tank bubbles just reach the surface too quickly. The best use of them is having them going into the filter for dispersion. The only way I measure it is bubble count which is not a good way nonetheless its how I've always always done it. No measurements anywhere except the occasional tds which I haven't even done to this tank yet. I do however have tds meter on my rodi unit which I measure when filling jugs. My water comes out 0 tds. Pure clean fresh water which allows me to do less and less water changes. The water is not polluted and pollutes way slower that even frequent and more and more water changes can be counter productive. The tank can become sterile which can cause algae or take away micros which can help some plants grow. Back to perfecting there is one algae that I always seem to get and it cant be dealt with by manual removal. String hair algae. The only two ways of getting rid of it for me is amano shrimp or api algaefix. Since my gh is so low I use algaefix and its pretty much gone forever unless introduced with a new plant. I hate hate using it as it goes against my belief in using chemicals but I gotta. Other algaes seem to work their way out or are easy to manually remove but this one seems to stay no matter whats done. Manual removing it just seems to make more of it pop up.

This picture is the OG uaupes that was once my favorite all time plant and wished was named after me.
