Here is my random journal i'll start updating but it will be in a random type way of updating being past or present. (nothing will be dated, it takes too much time for me) My goal is to produce as much content via pictures/videos/little bit of information as I can.

Consists of all tanks ever since I moved away from santa ana

Tank 1
tank 1 is currently my aquascaping tank. it consists of x12 cw111 'vulcan corydoras'
Manzanita wood, black lava rock, mastersoil (aquasoil), mosses and bucephalandra
its a 20gallon long tank 30"x12"x12" (its real hard for me to achieve depth theres so little space from front to back)
chihiros rgb pro 2
aquaclear 70 hob filter
there has been co2 on it before but no longer

Tank 2
Big moss farm tank (farm tanks are great to have as you can swap around plants to your other tanks)
56 gallon custom acrylic tank 36"x30"x12"
ati 36" x6 bulb t5 fixture
aquaclear 110 hob filter along with a jebao wavemaker
x2 bbs soil
caridina (blue base snowflakes)
various mosses
this tank used to have co2 but i'm no longer utilizing it here

Tank 3
tank 3 is a 20g long moss farm tank
x2 bbs soil
chihiros rgb pro 2
aquaclear 70 hob filter
this tank used to have co2 but no more

Tank 4
this is a landen rimless (60s 7.9 gallon) tank growing emmersed erios and erio seeds
lighting is a t5 x2 bulb 30" odysea fixture
this container is divided into 8 sections

Tank 5
this is a landen rimless (60s 7.9 gallon) tank trying to grow eriocaulon seeds
lighting is some unknown to me dual t5 bulb 30" fixture
this rectangle is divided into 15 sections

Emmersed containers
growing moss emmersed
these containers get indirect light so growth is really slow or even non existent
i use aged mastersoil that is misted then the container is sealed with seran wrap

May not be super ideal for “growing” but it’s an excellent holding site for moss, it’s so resilient. I have some in a tub now that I just spray intermittently until I’m ready to use it.

Ya you right especially great for storage and when running out of space. Very easy. Having a rack with a fluorescent bulb would increase growth in just dont have the plug room.

Wow, love the tank.

You have moss growing in squares near the surface and then, it looks like, also tied to branches using fishing line. What's in the holding container on the left?

Are you selling this stock or is it just for you?
Ya the squares are suction cupped ledges 2x2. The wood fragments are cut up manzanita and yes fishing line.

In this isolation box I throw in newly tied moss wood that still floats. If I put straight into the tank i may not find it when it sinks cuz of the wave maker making loss of visibility.

I definitely sell mainly on facebook and band app. I enjoy hoarding and massing certain mosses more though.

I do apologize for the late response art. I see the heart your putting into this forum. While doing water change I developed a sharp pain in my left lower back. It may be a herniated disc, strained back muscle pull I dont know. Its pretty devastating as I wont be able to do maintenance things anymore plus now a developed fear of lifting things. I fill 5g jugs with rodi and lift those jugs when changing water. I hope I dont need surgery, but that's the reason late reply

This tank is a failed production. All because most of the syngonanthus rio negro giants melted on me. After the month period of ammonia leech I could've just propagated what I had left but decided to turn it into another moss farm tank instead. I believe lack of water change caused the melt of the syns. A minimalist tank that would've looked great with full bush patches of giants complimented with a nice mossed driftwood. The driftwood ended up looking great with java spring moss and splach glued.

How do you prevent the moss from cross-contaminating when trimming?
Sorry delayed response.

I never trim. When I propagate I cut the fishing line with a exacto blade and scrape all the moss with the same blade if im not able to do it with my fingers. Tie the same moss to the same wood with less amount one layer of moss since its grown out I have more to work with. Then the other moss I am able to tie to other woods to multiply moss. Moss does get mixed in with others but I have seen only happens with invasive mosses. Which is like 2 mosses I have in my collection. The rest seem to stick to their own. The two I've seen that get mixed are mini pellia and pilo moss. For this reason I only keep pilo moss emmersed now. If I see a little bit of mixed moss I precision pull it out with my fingers. At times I have to pinch out the original moss with the mixed moss. I find mini pellia to be very easy to seperate. With pilo moss its a lot harder because it grips and attaches very well. A good moss to have species only tank and looks very beautiful with its draping ability. I have found other mosses that float away for various reasons not to contaminate and die off or not attach to other mosses so theyll be like free floating. If pilo mixes it can take over the whole wood since some are slow growers.

My iaplc entry
Rank #962
With all the years and experience i have into this hobby id figure I can create something and rank way higher but naw

First pic is the time of entry
2nd Pic is almost current with everything grown out. I haven't since setup trimmed anything in the tank
Maintenance is feeding the cories and water changes and cleaning the profiler

Having trouble visualizing how you are doing this 🤔🤔

Do you mean when the moss becomes overgrown you scrape it all the way off, and then just tie a layer of it back on?

how do you keep the front of the glass so clean with the aquasoil ? I see in many people's pics this area often gets mulm buildup and cyano.

Whenever I want to propagate more overgrown or grown enough I cut all fishing line and pull and dispose of it. Then scrape all the moss off with blade and tie one layer back onto the wood and other woods and retie. Short answer in reply yes that's what I do.

I really dont know. I guess with low par and microbiology. The only algae I got on this setup was bba on bare spots on wood where mosses weren't attached and also on bucephalandra leaves

So enough with the worn down amazonia. Time to reset soil. This is brand new mastersoil (brown). New soil is a game changer turn the tides but all these new soils in my opinion cant win against ada v1 amazonia or even my favorites Malaya and africana. Soil is one of the keys to success my opinion again. 20241214_204826.webp20241214_204842.webp20241214_210751.webp20241216_195801.webp

I'm with you. I've never sloped my substrate until this past year also. Seems after a couple good maintenance sessions, it's flat again. I'm not trying to do much aquascaping though. Just enjoying some farming right now, so I haven't worried about it too much. In the old days, people would put plexiglass risers in their tank to make sort of terraces. I'm not going that far.

Your Synogonthas look good. Post a front tank shot when you're done and the dust has settled.

Thx but these are all old pictures showing progress of how I made this scape

Even with farming its still cool to slope the soil for more visibility over a flat landscape. This would've came in handy for my farm tanks had I thought about it sooner. With my erio tank I have to look overhead to see some erios as flat blocks view and pics
