I'm researching aquarium brands.

Does anyone have one of the Aqua Rocks tanks? I'm planning on visiting them tomorrow. How well are the seams constructed? Is it low iron glass? How easily does the glass scratch?

And what other brands are folks extremely enamored with... or had bad experiences with?

I'm coming off a recent leaky tank experience with my 10 year old aqueon 55, so I'm really wanting to have low risk of a tank leaking on me, and thinking its time to go rimless.

I'm really happy with my Waterbox tanks. I also have a UNS, and a couple of FZone tanks. They're nice as well. Of those, I think Waterbox has the edge. I also have a Fluval tank that I purchased at a local store for a fantastic price. Evidently Fluval had a bunch made specifically for some live aquascaping contests and the unused tanks were then given to LFS distributers. It seems equal in quality to the others I have. All tank prices are high right now since many come from China, but Waterbox should be having their annual Blue Friday sale in November and all their tanks are 10 to 15 percent off.

I really like my UNS and Waterbox tanks. I’ve read on TPT though that most of the rimless tanks come from the same manufacturers in China and then are just rebranded. Maybe someone confirm…
I've also heard this. Even the ADA tanks are likely made on the same production line as some of these others.

Interesting that they might all be rebranded.

I've been looking at UNS, the mitred edges look nice.

Are all the low iron tanks about the same for being prone to scratching? I guess they probably are. That's one thing I'm worried about since I've never done low iron before.

I didn’t know they were prone to scratching. I haven’t had any problems with that though.

I'm quite protective of my tanks so haven't had issues with scratching on the Waterboxes that I purchased new but I've seen a couple complaints in their FB user group about scratches. Of the 2 FZones I purchased used, 1 is heavily scratched so I'm just setting it up as another farm tank. From what I've read, this is what some of the aquarium brands use for their low iron glass:
ADA: Optiwhite
Waterbox: Starphire
FZone: Novaclear
UNS: Diamant

Visually, I don't think you'd ever be able to tell the difference in glass, but does one brand scratch easier, I'm not sure?

My 150p is from ARC! Tommy (owner ARC) claims that most/all rimless tanks come from the same few manufactures. He told me that it's likely that his tanks are produced in the same factories that produce ADA and UNS tanks. No issues for me at all.

I learned a bunch chatting with Tommy when I visited Aqua Rocks. What a great store!

I'm leaning towards getting UNS tank and stand, probably 90p.

I'll probably be getting a Week Aqua light from Tommy.
