What is Growing on the Wood?

When working on macro photos for this month's contest, I stumbled upon this stuff growing on some dragonwood. Not visible to the naked eye with readers and a magnifying glass.

Curious as to what this may be.

Placed in the Algae area, no other forum area seemed appropriate.
 
Well, snail eggs was my first thought but after comparing photos, I'm not that confident.
Ramshorn eggs are usually clusters. I have seen those in the tank. This is contained within that one area. I've taken macro photos of all the wood, with this area being the only place in the tank where this growth is visible.
