These stands are very sturdy, look great and are fairly easy to build. They look much better than a 2x4 stand, IMO. They are a little more tricky to build., but totally worth the extra effort.
I've personally built two of these stands and am in the process of building a third, copying the steps in this video. They turn out really nice. My 90P tank sits on one and the other 2 are 60cm size. A 120 size would easily work with this stand, although I'd add a center brace.
Tools needed are:
-a skil saw with a high quality, fine tooth blade
-Some clamping straight edges
-Cordless drill
-assorted wood clamps
-Kreg pocket hole jig
-Kreg door hinge jig (not needed, but well worth it)
-jig saw
-iron and razor knife for edging material
