Yes, the inside of the aquarium is important and should be as beautiful to you as you can make it. However, don't forget about the outside of the aquarium. It needs to fit nicely into the room and make a pleasing sight to see.
This is a wonderful example. I love the minimalistic view. Of course, off-picture seems to be the canister filter and, likely, CO2 setup. I wonder how he is hiding that?
