Things are mostly doing well this summer.

The 60p hit one year in June. It’s a high tech rcs tank, that’s been kind of a constant rotation of plants, stems especially. There have been some issues with planaria this summer. I treated with a couple rounds of fenbendazole recently. The shrimp population already seems to be on the rebound as many of the smaller juveniles had disappeared for a few months.

The 20g is looking better. It was a bit of an algae farm for a while. It’s got a group of sparkling gouramis, tangerine tiger shrimp and green emerald neos. I set it up in October to be a Caridina tank but it sat running without anything in it until March. At which point I did much of the planting. Most of the shrimp were added in June after a test group had survived the gouramis for several weeks.



My 2.5gal brackish water Halocaridina rubra tank was next up on the list to be replaced. It has had a quarter size chip in the glass on the back glass for a while & the seam on the front corner recently started getting a tiny bit of salt creep on the outside. I have a 5.5g that will be fill probably tomorrow. I’ve been looking at the scape for several days now untouched. I’m excited for this upgrade. Originally, the plan was to put it in the same spot as the 2.5, next to the 20g. My back won’t take sitting on the floor to look at or maintain tanks anymore. So it’s going next to the 60p on the top shelf of another stand. The colony has been going since 2018 but took a big hit in 2020. It’s slowly growing again.

Not much to write home about...... It is steadly growing ever so slowly without CO2 and cool temps hovering in the 40s. I'll add Ricca is almost as bad as duckweed to get rid of. It never ends LOL.

Thanks. Have been slowly adjusting things, mostly dosing acording to growth. Only thing is its a mangnetude slower then high tech with CO2. We are talking a week to see a result vs a day. Want to start adding more species which will happen now that im working full time again.
