I fear I may be one step away from scuba divers, treasure chests and Sponge Bob Square Pants figurines in my aquarium.

While perusing the early black Friday sale at SaltwaterAquarium.com posted by @gnatster , I came across these Resin Seiryu Stones . I had been interested in UNS's resin stones but after checking them out at my LFS decided to pass. At the sale price, these seemed a better deal so I took a chance. Fast shipping, I ordered Saturday and they arrived today. Color is a bit darker than the collection of real stones I have, but I think they still look OK. I think I'll try them in the WB 16 gallon I have waiting in the wings to be scaped.

They look great! I haven’t tried them because I was afraid they would get gunky inside. Do they have holes for the water to fill them? I’m interested to see how they do for you.
So as I recall, the UNS strata stones were open on the bottom. Of course, they are all sculpted as a single formation of stones and there are several different formations you can get. That's one of the reasons I thought these were better, individual stones you can scape the way you like. There are no openings in these that I can see but they do seem to be hollow based on their weight. They're obviously supposed to sink ok though, so we'll see.

Follow-up: I've been struggling to arrive at a layout I'm happy with in my Brazilian style scape using dragon stone so I thought I'd take a look at the resin stones in this tank to get a feel for the space they fill. This is a 60X40X40 25 gallon tank. I think this is just the right size for the 11 stones that make up this set, and so I've decided to use these for this scape instead of the dragon stone. I'll probably supplement with a small amount of real stone.
