IMG_8062.webpI got cladophora algae in my aquarium.
I’d like to know some things to do to get rid of it. I read on the 2hr aquarist that it grows in dead spots with decaying overcrowded stems and high light.
Other than uprooting the stem plants and replanting the healthy stems, and adding more water flow, and cleaning up mulm and algae, is there anything else I should do?
Also the par is around 90-110 at the substrate.
I’ve also been told that a blackout won’t kill the cladophora algae.
Would h2o2 spot dosing kill it?

You can spot dose, but you also risk hurting your plants when you do that. Manual removal of what you can find and improving overall conditions is the BEST offense/defense when it comes to any algae. Spot dosing is a bandaid until the reason the algae is occurring is corrected. Your few spots is nothing to sweat about and with manual removal and good hygienic practices will eradicate your issue in time.
