Hi !
I got into this hobby when I was visited a friend's home as a kid. They had a tank with angelfish and a large Hypostomus plecostomus. I was mesmerized, especially by the pleco's mouth on the glass (I was 4). From then on I secretely wished to have a tank of my own, and in my teenage years I got one that eventually found a sort of equilibrium with tons of platies and anubias. I got back into the hobby three years ago and started with a 60p made by a guy in his garage with braces everywhere, recycled glass and copious amounts of silicon. The tank looked like it was straight out of the trash but I learned a lot, going from low to high tech and experimenting with soil and plants. I had to leave it behind during a move unfortunately. I now own a 120p planted tank, I might post a picture but I don't like how it looks like yet (left side is ok, right side is a mess right now). As I live in a hot place, I have had to fight high temperatures' effects and learned the hard way that some plants are ok with it but others are definitely not. Still experimenting. I would get a (bristlenose) pleco but my wife thinks they're ugly.
