How heavy is a 120p rimless tank? Can two people move it empty?

Sorry for the pings, but @Dennis Wong @Noahspapa @bradquade @ElleDee @Aolivieri4 and anyone else who has owned a 120p tank (120cm long), how heavy is your tank?

Are two people able to move it alone? And how thick is your glass?

I'm considering getting either the standard 120p (which is 120x50x50cm, 12mm glass) or a 120x50x60cm tank, also 12mm glass. At ARC a lot of the display tanks have that extra 10cm depth front-to-back, and it seems appealing, but I'm not sure if it's necessary... plus the extra weight and water volume to deal with.

Have any of you 120p owners wished you had a bit more depth front-to-back in your tanks? Would that extra 10cm give you much more planting/scaping room, without making maintenance more difficult?

My tank is an old style ADA 120P that is 120 cm x 45 cm x 45 cm and each panel appears to be 8 mm thick. No idea how heavy it is, but it was fairly easy for myself and one other person to move empty from my front yard through a cellar door and down ~5 steps. The stand was heavier and more difficult.

I'm satisfied with the depth, but I'm also not a serious aquascaper. It works just fine for my fruit stand style of planting. If you're planning to include hardscape or do a real dutch, the additional depth would be very helpful. I set the tank up with hardscape for a short time and it was annoying planting in the back of the tank. I also felt like there wasn't enough room in the front to add the plants I wanted.

Thank you all for the replies so far, this is super helpful!
I'm getting a bit tired of the size of my 150p and will be selling the house soon, so I might downgrade to the 120p dimensions. It takes four fairly strong, careful people to move the 150x60x60cm with 15mm glass. The tank alone weighs 350+lbs or so.

Glad to hear the 120 is more manageable, but I do have a few more questions:
Get the 60 depth. Allows more depth in scape. This tank is basically the same dimensions.View attachment 13145View attachment 13146
Love this tank, congrats again on your AGA placement!

How is maintenance on the 60cm depth?

I currently have a 60cm tall, 60cm deep tank on a fairly tall stand. Getting to the far back of the tank is pretty damn annoying, so I sometimes put off trimming/planting until I had the motivation. I don't have this issue on my much smaller 90S (90x50x36), but it's too small for me to really create anything impressive IMO.

Do you have to dunk your arm to your armpit to plant the back, like I do in the 150p?

I hear your pain there with the larger tank. I have a 150G 5ft and compared to the 4ft tank, it a lot longer for water changes, reaching to the back etc etc. That 150G is a solid older tank, rimmed and pretty thick glass. Empty, two people could still carry it ok. Had to move it multiple times. Not a long distance though.

I can't comment on the size preference, but I have a 12mm 120p ADA I got off Marketplace. I paid a LFS owner to help me move it. He stuck 2 suction cup devices like what @techman81 linked on each side panel and the two of us carried it down multiple flights of starts. Heavy, but doable with the suction cups. I think without them, it would still be doable, but more difficult.

These are even better responses than I could have asked for, thanks everyone! Keep the tips and preferences coming!
I'm definitely sold now on a 120p, 120cm long and 50cm tall. Still torn between the 50cm depth and 60cm depth, but leaning towards the 60cm depth.

The UNS 120P is 12 mm glass and weighs 152 lbs. I figure if you estimate 150-200 lbs, that would cover most brands.
Interesting the UNS weight is less even with thicker glass. Makes you wonder about accuracy of specs, especially when diifferent brands list different water volumes on the same size tanks.

Yes, I thought that was weird too. My UNS 90U was listed as 68 gallons when I bought it, and now they say 74.5 without having changed any dimensions. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe that's shipping weight rather than just the glass tank weight? Guess we'll need Rocco to do a tank weigh in now 😂
