And it isnt going up despite a call for heat…..

And a replacement Heater isnt getting it up, and an additional heater isnt getting it up any either….

Check to see if the freaking probe is still in the tank or not….

Thank goodness the heater thermostats were still good.

It took me 2 days to think to check for the inkbird probe to see if it was still in the tank…

The tank has a canopy, because I hated seeing her tap dance on top of the glass lid and expensive Week AQua light.

And twinwall polycarbonate lid with a small wire chase slot for heater cord and probe…

And she managed yo pull that probe out…

Is yours also an orange cat? I hear orange cats are the evil ones.

Mittens has an intense need for “up”….

Does t look too comfortable to me, but she insists she needs to be “Up” here…. Despite me getting her down a dozen times…

I finally relented as I figure I am not here all of the time, so she more than likely would just go “up” here when I was not around anyways….

I must confess to being impressed with the athleticism….

I have been in this hobby through 4 cats. Three are/were absolute angels about my tanks, but last year we got an orange boy who fits the stereotype 100%. He is a super sweet lover boy and a irredeemable chaos agent who just knocked the dish soap into the sink (again) while I am typing this sentence. He initially left the tanks alone until one day I walked into the room and the light was in the tank and there were plants all over the floor... ugh. Luckily the light dried out fine and all the fish in the tank were accounted for, so it could have been a lot worse, but now we have a common area where we have to leave the doors closed.

(We also had an orange boy who was very well behaved, so you never know!)

I have had multiple cats and multiple tanks for decades, but the only one who went swimming (accidentally) in the 500 litre tank when the covers were off was a ginger one ! He jumped up and in from floor level, expecting to land on a lid and got quite a shock !

I always like an excuse to post this pic of one of our (now departed) siamese boys warming his nether regions on an aquarium light.Noah 0312 tweaked.webp

Mittens loves my tanks. The Corys scurrying around the bottom of the tank are her favorite…

Minutes after Mittens walked into my apartment…

.A few hours later she curled up on my lap and told me I really needed a cat in my life… and due to an unfortunate set of circumstances she just so happened to be available.

I told her we could consider it…. She then curled up and took a nice nappy…
