Hydrogen Peroxide Spray Dilution for algae.

So I've somehow used up my gallon of metricide for excel, now I think you need a business license to purchase it on amazon.

I want to go back and try hydrogen peroxide again since its so easy and cheap to buy.

What ratios are you guys using to get rid of algae on plants such as BBA that are still somewhat safe for more delicate mosses?
Or should the mosses just be avoided for this?

1/2 peroxide + 1/2 water into a spray bottle for treating outside the tank?

Same one can cross check me please...but isn't it 3% at around 40ml/100l of water volume per day?
That's what I've gone by and thus far been OK with shrimp, plants except moss and grass etc...

Ifind though that if you grow healthy thriving plants algae really doesnt grow on them…

Algae grows on hardscape, glass, technical equipment but the plants ore free of it.

I use straight 3% bleach to clean hardscape and technical equipment and such, but really dont have any on the plants…

Grow a lotta buces.
Any change in environment over a year or high organics will usually result in BBA .
Excel kills the algae and pretty much leaves the older leaves intact looking clean. Like you almost can't tell it had a crap ton of BBA on it in the past. Feels kinda like cheating the game.

As you can imagine, being consistent for an entire year is kinda very difficult, especially if you have more than 1 aquarium.

Its faster/better to just dip them in excel for 1-2 minutes.
Rinse them with actual tap water so you don't get too much excel in the tank obviously.

Basically instead of slowly intoxicating your shrimp with a higher dose, and letting the algae adapt to higher and higher excel concentrations, just nukes it all at once and be done with it. Basically kills algae the same day and you should see the algae change color.

Shrimp, especially the more sensitive caridina just don't like excel, higher dosages will usually result in some stress/death.

I have 6.

I usually get some algae issuesin July August as aquariums edge up to around 80 degrees when I dont run air conditioners on the dryer days. I can handle upper 80s in my living space so long as the dew point is below 61, and being shut up with ac on all the time is grating…

Come mid September I tamp it back down..

I hate gluteraldehyde. Only use it on brief occasions as part of 1-2 punch whole tank treatments and water change it out the next day…
