It's hand size and already have 2 plantlets behind it that are 2cm high
Nice! I’ve gotten 2 babies so far and 2 more are soon ready to break off. How big was yours to start? Mine was 2 inches (5 cm) wide to start. I think it’s barely 3.5 inches now (8.9 cm)

Do you think that those 2 plantlets can be separated?

About growing speed, I got it 2 month ago, it didn't grow much in height but sprouts "lots"of new leaves and 2 babies.
Is it difficult to keep/grow?
Not much, to me, way easier than Pantanal, but if it doesn't like you tank condition, it starts dying veery slowly

Hey guys, since I've started using ro water, I've always maintained the same routine on how many grams used for both caso4 and mgso4.

But now something strange is happening.

My water tds has always been 180-200ppm after WC and around 280ppm at wc day.

Now, instead, the water is at 60ppm after wc, and 100ppm at wc day and the plants are starting to suffering again. Pale colors and dissolving leaves.

I remin Ro at wc volume (~150L, 12g mgso4, 15g caso4 - 7:23ppm).

The tds of the wc volume before remin is around 15-20ppm after remin is 60ppm (while before was around 110-120ppm after remin).

Is possible that something happened to my dry salts? I'm almost sure that my tds pen works good because when testing my tap water is says ~400ppm.

Hey guys, after long time break im back.

I would like to increase my community with some larger fish.

Right now there are only 2 female Pearl gouramis, I plan to increase this number to 10 (3 male and 7 females).

But I would like to buy croaking gouramis too (the idea is to convert the tank from nano fish focused tank to larger 10-20 larger fish (around 10cm each).

Do you think that this 2 gouramis species will bother each other?

The experience with the 2 girls of the Pearl is that they are the chillest fish of the tank.

Today is what I call "Reset".

Do you remember me? Do you remember my tank? Probably I'm the same person as before, just a bit more happier, lots changed in my life, I was chill guy, but something broke inside me, I lost interest in aquascaping, in going to the gym. Well I was a bit lost, that sure.

Now I'm happier, I found love, things are going in their places.

Soooo here I am, I plan to start again my tank (officially it was never off, but plants has been nuked, CO2 tank has been empty for several months).

I plan to buy around 20 plants. Here's the list:
  • Rotala indica
  • Althernatera reinecki mini
  • Rotala sunset
  • Rotala florida
  • Ludwigia white
  • Salzamanni purple
  • Hygrophila chai
  • Lindernia india
  • Rotala Macrandra variegated
  • Rotala Singapore Blood Red
  • Acmella repens
  • Rotala marilia
  • Limnophila hippoides
  • Xyris difformis
  • centrolepsis drummiana
  • Hygrophila chai
  • Eriocaulon ratnagiricum
  • Eriocaulon quinquangulare
  • Eriocaulon sieboldanium.

This is not a definitive list though.

About ferts, I plan going easy, so I'll buy commercial ones at first. Idk I going with Apt 3 complete with Apt jazz or master line golden (or master line 1 and 2).

But I'm back, sooner than later.

(What do you think about the list? And ferts? Any suggestions? )

Great to see you back!! Looking forward to pics!

Our own Joe Harvey @Burr740 has a commercial offering to check out, add a packet of each of the macro and micro premixed powder in a gallon of distilled water, decant into a 500ml dispenser bottle

and off you go! 👍👍

Welcome back. I'm a bit in the same boat. I was big in the hobby up until about 2006 and then for years I had tanks but I wasn't really active in the hobby and participating in forums. After a couple poor starts, I'm going again and really enjoying it. This forum is the best.

I bought from @Burr740 last year, he helped me a lot.

Honestly? I thought that, considering I'm restarting and I would like to do it slow and correctly, at first I thought It was a good idea using some premade high quality fertilizers (like Apt or masterline), but I have:
  • Burr micros
  • Kno3
  • Kh2po4 (AND K2HPO4)
  • K2So4
  • Mgso4
  • CaSo4
I already use both CA and mg to reminilize my ro water at gh 5.

Maybe, I'll use those salts instead of wasting money? What do you think?
I'll start straight away with custom made macros and micros?

Any target ppms to follow? 4-1-6 3x a week is the last recipe I used, maybe I'll copy apt 3 thanks to ifc calculator?

Lots and lots and lots of good discussions on here on fertilization recipe choices, have a search through the archives!

Here's one for starters

The Rotala Butterfly ferts calculator (also has an option to display in Italian 👍) is the easiest way to calculate ppms in solution for each of your dry salts:

Here's a good discussion from Dennis on a few different weekly dose options , depending on what kind of growth you're looking for and your water changes etc.

BurrAqua's macro pre-mix recipe uses 14.1/ 3.6 / 16.5 ppm N/P/K (@2ml per 10 gallons) / week if you dose three times weekly. This is what Joe uses on his tanks, closer to Dennis's middle range recommendations. The same pre-mix is closer to EI dosing if you use it four times weekly.

If you go HERE and scroll down, there is a good summary of PPS and EI methods.

Thank you @Koan !

@riioKen Thanks, and yes to everything you said. Your macro recipe sounds like a good start and koan dropped some other good info

Make your own macros and keep using my micros. Lots of advanced hobbyists do that. In fact thats been my niche for 10 years and how the micros came to be in the first place, as a better alternative to csmb, miller's etc for diy folks. Its only in the last couple years Ive had the macros for everybody who wants both. Similarly priced as the top all in ones with the freedom to raise one or the other without doing everything

But can it ship to Italy?

Yes, for $29 usd, a few dollars cheaper if its under 1 lb total. Can ship plants now too for $50-$55, arrives in 3 days. All of EU, India, Asia, UK, Ca. Those are confirmed and probably anywhere else. Im gonna be announcing that soon.

Tomorrow is the day where the new plants arrive, considering that my tank never seen co2 for the last 6-7 months, the pH that my controller is reading, can consider it degassed? Is it an error to drop the pH by 1 point right away? I used to drop the pH by 1.4,1.5 when the plant mass was enough
