What do you think about backlit?
View attachment 4922
Will it lead to algae? The week aqua p900 is on at 09:00 till 15:00, I was thinking to have a strip of leds ON in the background till 21:00.

Will it lead to algae? Fish and plants will be stressed. Let me know guys.
I run a Finnex planted plus on 24/7 factory settings so I have viewing lights most of the day. It’s only fully dark between 12 am and 6 am. This is in addition to my 8 hours of T5HO lighting during the reguale photos period. I haven’t noticed anything negative about using the Finnex for viewing since it’s so weak during the off hours.

I have any issue with backlight.

Great color (for me at least) from the Ludwigia super Red

And first photo of my new additions:

the centrolepsis drummiana (blood vomit) was a single plant, but then I separated it in 7 plantlets after 1 week of adaptation. The green stem behind is a Ludwigia white (turned green due to 1 week of dark, shipping delayed).
I had a Eriocaulon quinquangulare, but it dissolved.

I've pushed the light to 100% last week, only a bit of dust algae spotted on glass (which is free food from my perspective), but I need to monitor closely the lower part of ammannia capitellata, some leaves developed a "black dust". I can't push the CO2 lower, I noticed that at 5.35 pH , the fish are happy and swim all around the tank, while at pH 5.30, they all go to the surface.

I was thinking to add Eriocaulon ratnagiricum, so front blood vomit, behind it, quinquangulare then xyris red and at the side ratnagiricum. What do you think?

Plants look absolutely great!

Fyi Blood vomit does better if you dont split it into such sm singles. Better to just split it in half, three or four if its really fat. You might pull it off but dont be surprised if several of those melt

thank you burr, for now they're doing great, well i don't know if are growing, but i have since monday last week and are still alive so, its good i think lol, for sure i'll take that in consideration for the next propagation.

I'll be honest with you guys, I literally fall in love with the Week Aqua P900 (thanks again to my friend from overseas lol @Unexpected ) and I don't think I'll upgrade it soon BUT Im starting to be a bit obsessed for week aqua a430, I need 2 of them for sure.

My p900 is too short (the light frame is 91cm but the light panel is around 80-85cm for a 110cm long tank), the plants on the side are bending to the middle.

A single p1200 is 400€, while 2 a430 are around 450€.

What do you think? Stronger light means faster growth, stronger color but more CO2 and nutrients (and more bills, 130w for p900, 150w for p1200, 240w for 2 a430)

Hey guys, seems that I can't grow properly the pantanal, I'm starting to be annoyed to have it.

This is the top:

Mid to bottom being ugly, it is almost staged, do you think is lack of one of NPKs? Next week, I thought to increase just a bit P and K (from 12:4.5:18 to 5/5.5: 20).
Or maybe lack of light or even CO2?

Another plan is to remove it and put Meta instead (seems even redder? Or pantanal is redder?)

The A430 is a great light, going with 2 would be just fine. I would try raising the current light and bump up intensity and see if you get the coverage you need.

Stems dont always maintain their old leaves very well, especially sensitive plants, and especially on stumps that have sprouted new ones

Just let it grow through a few more trim cycles. The tops look good is the main thing, there's not much wrong with the bottoms. Its not something to go changing ferts or anything else over. Unless it gets worse or other species start having similar issues

This might be a cop out but you can never have conditions that are right for 100% of plants out there. If the rest of the plants are looking good and only the panatanal is struggling, I'd just scrap the panatanal. Great looking plants, by the way!

Yep, I'll try a bit more then I'll for sure remove it and try different species, maybe Meta. Now I'm growing centrolepsis drummiana, I didn't lost a single piece of it (even though I made the mistakes to separate in too thin plantlets, but they are all growing), xyris red (I can clearly see 2 plantlets, 2 leaf each) the only one that is melting is Eriocaulon quinquangulare.

So the tank's condition should be good enough for even a bit more delicate species.

Instead of them Pantanal/meta maybe I'll place senegalensis, which is great or idk lol

How big is the xyris sp red now? That looks giant but it could be the small erios in front. Mine is growing but I want it hand sized now lol
It's hand size and already have 2 plantlets behind it that are 2cm high
