Where do you keep your main tank in your home. I keep mine in the kitchen area. It gets maximum exposure where i can enjoy it and it's easy to maintain with sinks nearby. If you have a dedicated fish room "I hate you" but do chime in.

That's cool against the window like that. Did the background block the light from outside. Any algae issues placing it there.
So I used a solid white background film on this one specifically to help with the light intensity during certain points of the year. Honestly, the only reason it was put there is that is the only spot my wife agreed it would "work" from a design perspective. We had moved from our home to an apartment in downtown Miami...

Did it contribute to algae trouble, yes, initially. After the tank matured and I figured out the right mix (light/fertilizer/CO2), the algae was no longer an issue.

In the end, it did look cool with that backdrop.

Mine is my den. Since it's in a main part of the house, it gets a lot of attention and viewing. I think if it was in the basement I wouldn't give it the same amount of love.

And here's the set up right across from the tank. A good place to enjoy an adult beverage and oberserve the tank.

That looks very inviting. That's saltwater right?

I wanna know how old are those Advent speakers are!

Mine is in our living room. Don’t have a basement in this Patio home. Most of the tech stuff is in the garage. Stand is by Aquarium Design Group. Next year will be replacing the plants. It’s my wife’s favorite tank that I have set up.

Living room. But now banished to the garage. I rent and signed a new lease. In said lease it states no aquariums period. My problem is in the garage there is only one electrical outlet and the tank and chest freezer fight over that LOL. That is why I've only got one tank up at moment. IMG_20200820_055251.jpg

I can relate. I sold my house and will be renting for the time being and one of the first things I asked was "Any problem with a fish tank" Luckily the answer was no. Of course I didn't mention the industrial looking co2 cylinders I'll be lugging into the place. :ROFLMAO:

I've been holding off on taking a pic of the tank inside the room it sits in, mainly because I haven't completed the cabinet doors yet for the stand, but once that's done I'll grab a pic.

It currently resides in my finished basement where I spend the vast majority of my time since my office is down here. I also have my bedroom down here because it's cooler and I run fairly warm all the time, but it's also ridiculously quiet. Having moved from an apartment with paper thin exterior walls, a train about 200 yards away, and the sounds you'd expect from a city like Chicago (gunshots, loud cars, noisy neighbors, etc.) it's like sleeping in heaven. But where the tank sits is almost the most perfect location for the tank.

It's great seeing examples of how everyone incorporates their tanks into their living spaces!

LOL I forgot to respond to this. You have a good eye.

Advent Heritage I bought sometime in the early 90's. They were not cheap at the time about $700. They have a bit of a cult following now. I was just listening to them yesterday. Still have a pretty sweet sound.

Love this thread! I hope more people will post photos of their display tanks and environs.

My matching Fluval Osaka aquariums are in what used to be a dining room off of the main living room. The table is shoved aside, unused for eating for now, and the chairs put away in the basement.

I now call it the fish room : )

The four canister filters powering these tanks are all in the basement underneath with holes drilled in the floor for the hoses, resulting in utter silence in the space above.

I also drilled for a drain pipe through the floor behind one tank that ties into the shower drain in the bathroom on the other side of the wall, and use that pipe to stick the end of my syphon hose in for water changes. There is also a stainless garden hose through the floor that is attached to the hot and cold taps of my basement laundry area … needless to say, water changes are a breeze!
